About this product
Brand: Coosa Composites
The Nautical product is Coosa’s lightest fiberglass reinforced composite panel and an excellent replacement for plywood and other wood core composite panels due to its high strength to low weight ratio.
Before you choose
Nautical 20 is Coosa’s economical alternative in the Nautical series and the perfect middle ground between Nautical 24 and Nautical 15. With a density of 20 pounds per cubic foot, it is 45% or more lighter than plywood, providing versatility for various applications.
The Nautical 20 composite panel family
Coosa Nautical 20 is a fiberglass-reinforced composite core panel with a listed density of 20 lb per cubic foot. The sheets in this family measure four feet by eight feet. The Nautical series is presented as an alternative to wood-core panels where its construction meets the project requirements.
Keep the Nautical 20 grade explicit when comparing panel choices. The number describes the density grade, not a thickness, sheet weight or universal load rating.
Compare three sheet thicknesses
The current options are 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch thick. Select the thickness specified for the assembly and use the common four-foot by eight-foot footprint to plan cuts and sheet count.
The required panel thickness depends on the complete application, including supports and facing materials. A thicker sheet is not automatically an approved substitute, and a thinner sheet should not be selected only to reduce the order cost.
Confirm the grade before replacing another core
Nautical 20 and Bluewater 26 are separate Coosa products with different reviewed densities and constructions. Compare their technical information rather than treating them as interchangeable sizes. When ordering from FPR in Puerto Rico, identify Nautical 20, the exact thickness and sheet quantity, and review the selected option for panel pickup requirements.
