Solid-color epoxy floors

Prepare the concrete, apply the color and protect the finish.

  1. Step 1. Choose the system

Identify the approved primer, pigmented epoxy and any required wear coat. Confirm compatibility, coverage and service requirements. Use a flooring coating, not an arbitrary laminating or casting resin.

Follow the approved layer sequence. Thicknesses are schematic.
  2. Step 2. Prepare the concrete

Test moisture using the system-required method. Remove contamination, create the specified surface profile, complete repairs and vacuum dust. Keep movement joints functional. Confirm temperature, humidity and dew-point limits before coating.

Remove contamination, create the required profile and remove dust.
  3. Step 3. Mix and apply the primer

Measure the exact A:B ratio by the stated volume or mass basis. Mix as instructed, including the sides and bottom. Apply at the specified coverage without pools or starved areas. Correct persistent pinholes before continuing.

Follow the product ratio and measurement basis. No universal ratio is shown.
  4. Step 4. Check the recoat window

Confirm the primer has reached its minimum overcoat condition and remains within the maximum interval. If the window has passed, follow the specified preparation. Stop if the film is soft, oily or contaminated.

  5. Step 5. Mix the colored epoxy

Use factory color or the approved pigment pack. Keep the exact A:B ratio and color loading consistent. Mix only what the crew can finish while workable; do not pour unmixed container residue onto the floor.

Follow the product ratio and measurement basis. No universal ratio is shown.
  6. Step 6. Spread and finish

Spread each batch over its planned area and back-roll promptly, keeping a wet edge. Check the specified film build. For poor hiding, use an approved additional coat rather than extra pigment. Apply the compatible wear coat when required.

  7. Step 7. Protect the cure

Keep dust, water and early traffic away. Release the floor using the actual product requirements for walking, vehicles and chemicals; these are different milestones. Hand over the product details and cleaning instructions.
