Biaxial 45 with Mat
Stitched biaxial fiberglass with a chopped strand mat backing, in roll, yard and packaged formats.

Biaxial reinforcement with a mat backing
This fiberglass combines a 45-degree biaxial reinforcement with a chopped strand mat backing stitched to it. The reviewed roll construction is identified as 1708. It belongs in a different family from biaxial cloth without mat because the backing changes the material being added to a laminate.
When a project calls for biaxial fiberglass with mat, check both the fiber orientation and the complete construction rather than choosing by width alone. A 90-degree biaxial product or woven roving is not the same reinforcement.
Rolls, cut yards and packaged pieces
This family includes 50-inch roll material, a 50-inch cut-yard option and a 36 by 50 inch packaged piece. A separately listed whole roll is described as 50 inches by 36 yards and 80 lb. Review the chosen row carefully: roll weight, linear length and the billing unit are different measurements.
Plan the required shapes and orientation before choosing a supply format. Confirm the individual option specification when matching packaged material to a laminate schedule.
Match the reinforcement to the resin system
Use the resin manufacturer guidance to confirm compatibility with the complete stitched fabric, including its mat backing. Do not assume that a resin recommended for a mat-free cloth is automatically suitable for every backed reinforcement.
