About this product
Brand: Noah Fiberglass
Fabric composed of the combination of two layers of fiberglass fabrics sewn together. One layer is made up of strips that run the length of the roll and the second layer is made up of strips that run the width of the roll. Both layers do not interlock with each other, compared to the "Woven Roving". This characteristic allows the fiberglass strips to be fully stretched. This makes the fabric much stiffer and stronger. It also makes for more uniform and less "bumpy" finish. However, it doesn't conform to curves as well as a regular Woven Roving.
45-degree biaxial cloth without mat
This family groups the reviewed 45-degree biaxial fiberglass construction without a chopped strand mat backing. The material is 50 inches wide and is offered in roll and cut-yard formats. Biaxial reinforcement uses stitched fiber layers rather than the interwoven yarn arrangement of woven roving.
The absence of a mat backing is an important specification, not just a packaging difference. Keep this cloth separate from 1708-style backed material when checking a laminate schedule or comparing an existing sample.
Select roll material or a linear yard
The roll listing is sold by weight, while the cut-yard listing is sold by length at the stated 50-inch width. A quantity on one option therefore cannot be transferred directly to the other. Check the minimum and unit displayed for the exact row you intend to order.
For a cut layout, work from the width, required lengths and fiber orientation. If the project specifies an areal weight or an exact manufacturer construction, confirm those details before placing the order.
Keep orientation and backing in the specification
A generic request for biaxial fiberglass can refer to several different materials. Include 45-degree orientation, no mat backing and 50-inch width when asking FPR about this family in Puerto Rico. Resin compatibility and the number or direction of laminate layers should follow the approved system instructions, not the appearance of a product photo.
