About this product

Brand: Noah Fiberglass

This fabric is a continuous, high strength, high strain in 3,000 (3K), filament count tows. This fiber has been surface treated and can be sized to improve its interlaminar shear properties, handling characteristics, and structural properties, and is suggested for use in weaving, prepregging, filament winding, braiding, and pultrusion.

Before you choose

5.9OZ fabric. 2x2 twill.

3K carbon fiber with a 2 x 2 twill weave

The reviewed specification for this family is 3K tow, a 2 x 2 twill weave, 5.9 oz fabric and 50-inch width. The 3K designation refers to a tow containing 3,000 filaments. It identifies the fiber bundle, while the twill designation describes the weave.

This family is separate from the heavier 6K twill. A similar dark woven appearance does not establish equivalent tow size, fabric weight or suitability for a particular laminate.

Choose a cut yard or a pre-sized roll

The family includes 50-inch-wide cut-yard options and rolls listed at five or fifteen yards long. Some cut-yard options identify a different supplier in the option label; check that label when matching an existing material or procurement requirement.

Plan the part layout and visible weave direction before deciding on the length. Width, linear yards and fabric weight describe different aspects of the product and should not be used as interchangeable order quantities.

Match the fabric to the composite design

Dry carbon fabric requires an appropriate resin system and processing specification for the intended part. Do not infer finished-part strength or a required layer count from the tow size alone. For a Puerto Rico inquiry, give FPR the 3K, 2 x 2 twill, 50-inch specification and the preferred cut-yard or roll length.
