This fabric is a continuous, high strength, high strain in 6,000 (6K), filament count tows. This fiber has been surface treated and can be sized to improve its interlaminar shear properties, handling characteristics, and structural properties, and is suggested for use in weaving, prepregging, filament winding, braiding, and pultrusion.
6K twill carbon fiber fabric
This family contains the reviewed 6K, 2 x 2 twill carbon fiber construction, listed as 11 oz fabric at 50 inches wide. A 6K tow contains 6,000 filaments. The family groups the matching roll and cut-yard material without combining it with the separate 3K construction.
Use all of the specification when comparing fabrics: tow size, weave, fabric weight and width. The 6K designation by itself does not define a finished laminate or make this cloth a direct replacement for a lighter fabric.
One material in two supply formats
Choose between the 50-inch-wide linear-yard option and a full roll listed as fifteen yards long. The two listings have been reviewed as the same material, but each retains its own order unit and minimum.
A measured cutting plan helps determine whether the cut-yard or roll format better fits the job. Include trimming allowances and any visible weave alignment in that plan rather than estimating only from the finished part area.
